Welcome to vagg.org.uk, this website is designed to provide a repository for research into all branches of the Vagg family. The origin of the family is a matter of continuing research, but branches of the family can be found in Somerset and Sussex from the 12th century onwards.
Research into the family started in earnest in the 1960's and was the subject of two books, "Somerset Vaggs in Australia" and "The Vagg Odyssey: A Thousand years of the Vaggs". Ceril Mervyn Vagg, the author, combined his own research with contributions from other genealogists to produce a potted history of the family in Somerset and their descendants in Australia.
My own reseach into the family has been ongoing for nearly 10 years and I hope this website will provide us with a more complete understanding of the origins of our forebears.
